Everyone knows that settlements and verdicts have increased substantially over the past few years. They are no longer nuclear verdicts; they are the new reality, and we cannot ignore them. We will discuss the current exposure trends in claims and litigation, review the operational, societal and litigation trends, facts and events that make claims “go bad” before the lawsuit and even the incident, and the steps that can be taken before and after the accident to mitigate damages and reduce things so hopefully, they don’t go bad.
